The Role

Supporting our staff team with children across the nursery ages 3 months - 5 years

Abbotswood Pre-School & Day Nursery offer a unique countryside setting in extensive grounds of a large converted Victorian property. We are a home from home traditional setting with an emphasis on outdoor learning. Our children spend most of their day outdoors across our gardens and woodland area.

The lunch cover team assist the staff team with activities for the children, nature walks and lunch time. The younger children will need support for going to sleep and monitoring them until they wake up.

Hours

16 hours per week 4 days per week

This is not a term time only position, we are open all year round.

Salary

Starting wage* is £12.31 from April 2025.

Wage if starting in March 2025 £11.48

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, you will have had experience working within a nursery setting however this is not critical.

Lunch covers are at the heart of the support for our nursery team. You will need to have the confidence to pick up where our practitioners have left off, engaging children in great outdoors.

Full training is provided, especially in around our outdoor and hygge in early years ethos.

You must demonstrate confidence in communicating with everyone across the nursery.

Must be willing to receive training in safeguarding, pediatric first aid, and prevent duty.

Within reasonable request, to be available to support the nursery with ratio and/or childcare needs for over time hours. (this could be to support sickness, absences and holidays)
